William J. Szulc Sr.

William J. Szulc Sr. 63 of Indian Orchard and formerly of Holyoke was called safely home on May 31, 2016 at the Brigham & Womens Hospital in Boston. He was the son of the late Rozalia (Czygier) and Bronislaw Gadek and was born October 23, 1952 in Hamburg Germany. He was a graduate of Holyoke Catholic High school in 1969 and worked at the Bulk Mail Center  in Springfield for 20 years before his retirement in 2001. “ Schultzy”  is survived by his wife Brenda (Thornton), his son William Jr. (Lucia), his daughter Kathy Szulc (Robert), brothers John Gadek of Holyoke and Albin (Minda) Szulc of San. Bernadino CA., 5 grandchildren Zackery, Trevon, Kassidy, Alex and Dialy, and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Stanley Gadek and Walter Szulc. Funeral services will be Monday starting at 9 a.m. from the Dillon & Edward F. Day Funeral Home 124 Chestnut St Holyoke followed by a Mass in St. Jerome Church at 10 a.m. with burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery So. Hadley. Visiting hrs will be Sunday from 5-8 p.m.
