Edward D. Brown 84 of Holyoke died Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Holyoke Medical Center. Born in Holyoke on Nov. 2,1933 the son of James and Caroline (Kot) Brown. He graduated from St. Jerome High School in 1952 and was a Navy Veteran from 1952-1956 at the Naval Air Station, Jacksonville Fl. He was employed at the Fla. Piels Brewery for many years followed by custodial jobs at Holyoke High School and the War Memorial Building. He was a parishioner of St Jerome Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and most especially his best friend Herby Rosenberg. He enjoyed visiting Mohegan Sun once a month and watching the Red Sox as well as following horse racing. He leaves his niece Jacqueline Thomas (Don), his nephew John Brown and his companion Meribah Lane, a grandniece Laura Thomas and grandnephew Christopher Brown and many cousins. Ed was predeceased by his brothers Robert, James and John. Ed’s family would like to thank the 2nd fl. rehab staff at Holyoke Health Care Center as well as Holyoke Medical Center staff for their care and compassion. Funeral services and visiting are Mon June 25th from 9 – 10:15 am from the Dillon Funeral Home Inc. 124 Chestnut St Holyoke followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Patrick Chapel of St Jerome Church at 10:30 am with burial in St Jerome Cemetery.
