Olga Ruszczyk

August 7, 1925 ~ February 5, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old

A beautiful heart went silent on February 5, 2017.  Born August 7, 1925 to Nicholas and Katherine  Okolita of So. Hadley  Ma. As a young adult Olga worked in area factories and worked as a “ Rosie the Riviter” during World War II. She meet and married Chester M. Ruszczyk in 1946 and moved to So. Hadley where they lived for 60 years, raising their three children. He predeceased her in 1998. Olga leaves behind her son Joseph J. (Vicki) of Versailles, Ky., her daughters, Cynthia Masse (Paul) of Westborough Ma. and Barbara Ottomaniello (Nicholas) of So. Hadley. She will be missed dearly by her cherished grandchildren Stacia (Jon) of Louisville Ky, Jodi (Robert) Nowak of Holyoke, Elijah Miner (Kelly Cobb) of Valley Head WV, Kristen Golonka of Chicopee and Todd Miner (Jessica) West Topsham Vt. Also. Jacob, Izaac, and Leah Hathaway, West Topsham Vt. Her great grandsons, Blake and Jacob, brought her pride and joy and were the light of her life. Even into her 90’s she could still be found working in her garden or just watching and feeding the bird’s in her backyard. “Lets play cards” was her motto and she never passed up a good game of pitch or poker. The funeral will be Wed. February 8th beginning at 8:30 a.m. from the Dillon Funeral Home Inc. 124 Chestnut St Holyoke followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patricks Church, So. Hadley at 9:30 a.m. with Burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visiting hrs will be Tues. Feb 7th from 4-7 p.m.A special thanks to her longtime neighbors Donald, Vivian and Gail Gladu. In Lieu of flowers Olga requested that donations be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital, 516 Carew St Springfield Ma 01104
