Ronald Layzer Obituary

Ronald S. Layzer 75 of Chicopee passed away at home surrounded by his family on Dec. 19,2019. Born in Holyoke March 7, 1944 he was the son of the late Stanley and Helen (Skypeck) Layzer. He was an Army Veteran from 1968-1970. He earned his Masters Degree in Education and was a Teacher in the Chicopee School system for 42 years teaching Science. Ron was a life long communicant of Mater Dolorosa and Our Lady of the Cross.  His greatest joys were spending time with his children, grandchildren and grand-pets.   He is survived by his loving wife Judith (Washburn), Children Jeffrey Layzer and partner Kymberleigh Bartlett-Rhayne of South Hadley, Katherine Layzer and spouse John Harrrington  of Belchertown, Sarah Layzer and spouse Patrick McNulty of West Springfield, Grandchildren Sarah Nicole, Abigail, Ethan, Matthew, Ruby, Hazel, Cleo , Great Grandson Samuel, a Brother James Layzer and wife Nancy Layzer of Tennessee his Sister-in-law Charlene Patton and Brother-in-law Daniel Washburn and wife Diane and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews other family members  Funeral services will be Monday Dec. 23rd beginning at 8:45 a.m. from the Funeral Home 124 Chestnut St Holyoke followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Cross church in Holyoke with burial to follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, So. Hadley. Calling hrs. are Sunday Dec. 22nd from 3-6 p.m.
