Deborah Prouty Obituary

Deborah ( Gariep ) Prouty, 62 of Chicopee passed away on Sat. April 18 at a local nursing home. Born in Holyoke May 24, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Larry and Irene Gariep. She was formerly employed by Charter Cable as a Manager for several years. She is survived by her loving husband Douglas C. Prouty Sr., her daughter Heather Clayton (Bradley), a son, Douglas Prouty Jr. (Kerry) of N.C . Her sisters Sandy Chamberlain (Vincent), Sue Papka (Teddy), Joe Gariepy (Chris),and late brother Roger Gariepy, brother Sonny (deceased) wife Chris. Sister in laws Linda Smith (John) and the Late Phyllis Landry. She has 7 grandchildren  Jessica Cammarata (Jonathan), Mitchel Noble (Ali) Kaleb Noble, Allie Prouty, Troy Stratton, Elise Prouty , Sam Prouty. She also has 6 great grandchildren Arietta, Carter, Warren, Lexus, Maylee, Theo. Several nieces and nephews that she will thoroughly miss. Debbie was  a member of The First Baptist Church of Holyoke where she married Doug in 1978. They have shared a lifetime of love and happy memories; together they enjoyed helping others as they were a true team in their marriage and completed each other. To say she was a devoted wife is an understatement. Debbie was Doug's best friend and soulmate, their love will continue to strive through their memories and memories told by her family. Debbie loved to cook, draw and play music and she loved her dog Sheba. She also loved to camp and dance and participate in family affairs. She will truly be missed. All services were private.
