Elsie M. (Gagne) Bouchard 75, of Holyoke gained her wings on Wednesday November 20th, 2024. She was born in Holyoke on February 28th,1949. The daughter of Edward and Marie (Pelletier) Gagne. Elsie is predeceased by her lovely daughter Tina whom she lost earlier this year. She is survived by her loving husband Earl McClain, along with her brother, children, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. To know her was to love her. She was a caring child and daughter, who blossomed into motherhood in her teen years, still completing high school and always taking care of her family as well as others. A mother to all that knew her; Her love, generosity and her kindness encouraged others to love in such a way. Her charismatic smile and heart of gold could make any room light up She was a well-known and adored “Lunch Lady” for 29 years in the Holyoke Public School System. Lifelong friendships were formed with her co-workers as well as relationships with the children she served throughout their school years. Elsie and Earl have been camping enthusiasts for countless years, enjoying many family camping trips. Elsie was a Den Mother for Boy Scouts as well as longtime member of NAFCA PV8 Camping Club and former President. Her commitment and dedication to the club throughout the years has influenced and inspired many. If you knew Elsie, she has probably given you a gift of some sort, always knowing just what to pick! She was the lady with endless thoughtfulness and gifts for all. Most recently though Elsie has been dedicated to something else… ANGELS. The Legacy of The Angels Elsie has made over 20,000 angels. These handmade angels from a simple paper clip, pearl and a button halo have brought smiles and hope to thousands of individuals she has met and haven’t met, insisting you must have a few of her angels for your friends and family. Although Elsie is an Angel now, her angels will continue to circulate as her presence is missed and her memory brings us all comfort. We will remember her loving spirit and how special she has always been to all that knew her. Calling hours for Elsie will be held on Monday November 25th from 4-7 PM. A liturgy of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday November 26th in St. Jerome Church at 10 AM followed by burial and committal services in St. Jerome Cemetery.
