Estelle E McCabe

Estelle E. ( St. Laurent)  McCabe, 102, of Holyoke passed away on Thursday August 13, 2020. Born in Easthampton Ma. on November 12, 1917 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lena (Gagne) St. Laurent. She graduated from Holyoke High School in 1935 and then attended the Holyoke Business School. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Springfield Ice and Fuel Co and the Hart Wool Co. of Holyoke for many years. Was a member of the Holyoke Canoe Club, Providence Hospital Guild, A Life Long member of St Paul’s Episcopal church in Holyoke and was active with the Girl Scouts Of America. Married in 1939, Estelle was predeceased by her loving husband Wellsford in 1987 after 52 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her son Douglas J. in 1988 and her daughter Beverly A. Lafond in 2010, and her 3 sisters Claire Bluemer, Alda Coppez, and Jean LaPoint. She is survived by her sons Wellsford L. McCabe/Patty of Port Orange Fl., Davis J. McCabe/Donna of Maynard, Ma. and a daughter Candace R. Latwis/Frank of West Brookfield Ma., 12 grandchildren Tammy, Kimberly, Karla, Beth, Richard, James, Shaun, Rebecca, Kris, Danielle, Denise and Stephen and 22 great grandchildren. A graveside Service will be held on Thursday Aug 20th at 11 a.m in Forestdale Cemetery Cabot St Holyoke. Dillon Funeral Home Inc 124 Chestnut St Holyoke was Entrusted with the arrangements.
