Francisco Alvarez

Francisco Alvarez (Paco/Paquito), age 71, passed away peacefully at Holyoke Medical Center on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.  He was born on July 12, 1952, in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. Francisco retired as a foundry worker at H.B. Smith Co. in Westfield. He is survived by his wife, Herminia Santiago, his daughter, Luz (Lucy) Santos, and husband Jacob Santos Sr. Son, Francisco Santiago, and wife Livia Santiago. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Ashley M. Rodriguez, Desiree L. Rodriguez, Jasmine A. Oliva, Jacob Santos Jr., Francisco Santiago, Jayshalee Santos, great-grandchildren Ivan Oliva, Luz Oliva, Francisco Santiago, mother Marcolina Aponte, father Francisco Alvarez (predeceased) his brothers Saturnino Alvarez (predeceased), Reynaldo Santana (predeceased), Wilfredo Santana, Ruben Santana, and Severo Santana, his sisters Irma Alvarez (predeceased), Rosa Alvarez, Concepcion Alvarez, and Yolanda Santana along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncle, and friends. In his spare time, Francisco enjoyed spending time with his family, and friends and gardening. Calling hours will be Sunday evening Nov 19th from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will begin on Mon. Nov 20th at the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. with a Liturgy of Christian Burial Celebrating his life at 10 a.m. in St. Jerome Church, Hampden St. Holyoke, to be followed by interment in Forestdale West Cemetery 200 Rock Valley Rd. Holyoke.
