Joan St. Laurent passed through the Gates of Heaven on Thursday, August 25, 2022 from her home surrounded by her loving family. Joan was just over 3 lbs. at birth and was not expected to survive. Born on December 23, 1935 in Delhi, NY to James and Gladys (Signor) Peck. Joan survived and took on life challenges to the best of her abilities and always with a smile. Joan’s parents moved to Western Massachusetts for a better education so she could attend Clark School for The Deaf. She continued her education at American School for the Deaf in Connecticut. Joan’s greatest passions were her family, friends and social gatherings. She also enjoyed bowling and camping with a large variety of family and friends. Joan belonged to several organizations for the deaf and was greatly loved and appreciated by all. Joan was preceded in death not only by per parents but also by a sister, Madeline (Alexander) Nartowics, and also by her husband, George St. Laurent. Joan leaved behind her four children Germaine (Bill) Leahan, Palm Coast, FL, Regina (Joel) Packard, with whom she lived with in South Hadley, MA, George (Michelle) St. Laurent, Chicopee, MA, Joannie Robinson, South Hadley, MA. She loved her grandchildren deeply and they will miss her greatly. The grandchildren are Melissa, Gregory, Amy and Christopher Yothers, Matthew St. Laurent, Samantha (St. Laurent) Erzen, Randie (Packard) Mahoney, Justin Packard and Kristie Robinson. Joan also leaves behind 12 great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends to carry on her memory. Visiting will be from 10-11 am on Wed. Aug. 31st at the funeral home followed by a committal service and burial in St Mary’s Cemetery Northampton
