Lauren Chicorka, 64, passed away peacefully at Baystate Medical Center with her loving family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer.Lauren was born October 21, 1960, in Holyoke, MA. She was the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Chicorka. She was educated and resided in Holyoke, MA. Lauren was a long-time, dedicated employee at C&S Wholesale Grocers in Windsor Locks, CT, where she formed many close friendships.Lauren was a devoted sister and aunt who cherished spending time with her family, whether it was relaxing on the beach with a Corona and lime, watching pelicans with Lisa in California, or enjoying a slice of pizza at Joe’s with David and Glen. She also loved watching classic TV shows in her downtime, with “Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer” being one of her favorites. She had a love for all dogs, especially her beloved “Soft Boy,” Cooper, who became her loyal companion during her battle with cancer.She is survived by her two brothers: David and his wife Deborah of Enfield, CT, and Glen and his wife Marie of Brimfield, MA. She also leaves behind a nephew, Branden, of Denver, CO, and a niece, Laura, along with her husband Jake Critz and their daughter Reese, of Suffield, CT. She was predeceased by her sister, Lisa, who lived in Encinitas, CA. Lauren’s family wishes to thank Dr. Siddappa and the team at D'Amour Center for Cancer Care along with the doctors, nurses and staff at Baystate Medical Center for their warm and compassionate care given to Lauren. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 9:00AM to 10:30AM at Dillon Funeral Home, 124 Chestnut Street, Holyoke, MA. Mass will follow at Our Lady of the Cross Parish at 11 a.m.Lauren’s burial will take place at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in South Hadley, MA. Memorial donations in Lauren’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice
