Nancy L. (Shewchuk) Litz

Nancy Lorraine Litz (née Shewchuk) passed peacefully into heaven on June 5, 2024, at home in Agawam, MA, at the age of 74 with her loving family by her side.  Born in Holyoke, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Cecile (LaBrie) Shewchuk. Nancy worked as a service representative for Freedom Credit Union for more than ten years. She was a talented woman who held careers as a real estate agent and a hairdresser in the past as well.  She worshiped at St. John the Evangelist Church in Agawam, MA. In her leisure time, Nancy enjoyed cooking large meals for her family and friends, playing cards, and sharing moments of laughter with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Raymond, her son Scott and daughter-in-law Cindy (Sisk) of Agawam, daughter-in-law Cherie (Berard) Brooks and family of Florida, beloved grandchildren Brian Litz of Florida, and Jack Litz, Ryan Litz, and Cecelia Litz of Agawam, brother Leonard Shewchuk and his wife Shirley of South Carolina, and many relatives and friends whom all will miss Nancy very much.  Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and son, Marion County K9 Deputy Sheriff Brian Robert Litz. Calling hours will be held at Curran-Jones Funeral Home, 745 Cooper Street, Agawam, MA. on Sunday, June 9th, from 5-8 p.m. An in-house service will be held on Monday, June 10th, at the Funeral Home at 10 a.m. followed by a committal service in the chapel of Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sister Caritas Cancer Center at Mercy Medical Center, 271 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104. The Dillon Funeral Home Holyoke is assisting with the funeral arrangements.
