Neil Soderbaum, 68 passed away on April 24, 2022, at his home. He was born in Holyoke, Ma on March 9, 1954 to the late George and Helen (Lewkowicz) Soderbaum.Neil was a graduate of Holyoke High School in 1972 and worked for many years at Frank’s Gas Station in Holyoke. He loved spending his time with his brother Michael who made him smile like no other. In addition, he was an avid fisherman and hunter, and had quite the trophy room that he loved to show off. Neil was a longtime communicant of Mater Dolorosa Church and later Blessed Sacrament where all the Priests and Brothers knew him very well. Anyone that knew Neil knows that he could make anyone laugh. His stories, questions, and responses were priceless. His friends and family will fondly remember his compassion, thoughtfulness, and his big heart. Neil was predeceased by his brothers, George T. Soderbaum and Michael Soderbaum and his sister, Laurie A. Soderbaum. He was also predeceased by his Aunt Anna (Creena) (Lewkowicz) Fitzgerald, and her husband George Fitzgerald, who both took over as care takers for the four children, as a result of the passing of Neil’s parents while the children were still young. He leaves behind his nephews, George T. Soderbaum and his wife, Laura of Holyoke, Joshua Soderbaum and his wife, Pamela of Holyoke, his niece, Lyanne Soderbaum of Granby Conn, as well as four great nephews and one great niece. Visiting hrs. will be Tues. May 10th from 9-10:30. Burial will be private to the family.
