Peter J. Kessler

Peter John Kessler, 69, passed away on June 6, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Peter was born on September 20, 1952 in Utica, NY, to the late Joseph A. Kessler, Jr., and Dolores (Pieper) Kessler. Peter graduated from Longmeadow High School in 1971, and from Paul Smith’s College in Paul Smith’s NY in 1974 with a Bachelor’ s degree in Forest Management. He worked at Dominick Auto Parts in Enfield, CT for several years, then at Orr Cadillac in Springfield, MA, as Parts Department Manager for 27 years. He retired from West Springfield Auto Parts in 2018. Pete was an exceptionally kind man with a heart of gold. He had a great sense of humor, quick wit, love of family first, great love of live musicians and all music. He lived a very humble and simple life which was an example to us all. He was loved by so many throughout his life and always will be. Peter is survived by his former wife, and friend, Marcia Kessler, their two sons; Peter Kessler (Jessica) of East Longmeadow, MA, Andrew Kessler, (Melissa) of Ludlow, MA, who lovingly cared for him along with all his family, in his last weeks.  He also leaves his four siblings; Joseph A. Kessler III (Christine), of Springfield, MA, Lynn A. Levesque, of Springfield, MA; Christopher P. Kessler (Bernadette), of Havertown, PA; and John A. Kessler, of Holyoke, MA. He also leaves four nieces and nephews: Suzanne, Real, Piper, Elizabeth; seven great nieces and nephews: Abigail, Mila, Timothy, Coral, Angelina, Christopher and McKenzie; and a cousin, Peggy Pieper O’Connor, of Cazenovia, NY. Services will be private. Burial will be in Longmeadow Cemetery, Longmeadow, MA at the convenience of the family.
