Robert Provost Obituary

Robert F. Provost 81 of Chicopee passed away surrounded by his family on March 5, 2023. Born in Holyoke, February 10, 1942 he was the son of Roger and Pauline ( Gregoire ) Provost. He worked as a Machinist 20 years at the Sinclair International Co. and also was a Property Maintenance Caretaker for Harvest Properties in Chicopee. Robert was a Professional Boxer in his day and in the garage of his home he bought and built a boxing ring to train young fighters. He was also a boxing coach and trainer at the Holyoke Boys and Girls Club for over 35 years where he trained some of the best fighters in the area. Robert was predeceased by his loving wife Sandra (Mackiewicz) and is survived by his children Gayle Racine, Robert Provost Jr., Gary Provost, Shannon Provost, Tamara Barnes, Barry Headlee, Keith Headlee and Leslie Headlee, 2 sisters Mary and Maxine and a brother Andy. 17 Grandchildren, 6 great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visiting will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in the spring in Calvary Cemetery, Hatfield.
