Susan K Russell

HOLYOKE and POCASSET, MA – Susan K. Russell, 92 passed peacefully away at Loomis House on Thursday, July 28, 2016. Born in Brockton, MA, Sept. 4,1923 she is the daughter of the late Margaret Ellen (Lincoln) and Benjamin Franklin McRae. Susan attended school in Brockton. She worked at Bay State Ice Cream in Abington, Ma for several years. She retired from the Bourne School system in 1983. She worked as manager in the school cafeteria at Peebles Elementary School. Sue was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic, Sons of Union Veterans in Hanson, MA for many years. She enjoyed her family, pets, ceramics, knitting and life in general. She is pre deceased by her husband Charles S. Russell, her son, Charles S Russell Jr.one sister Thelma Badger, two brothers Walter F. and Alfred J. McRae. Sue is survived by her daughter, Cindy S. Avery, and her husband James B. Avery of Ellsworth, ME. She also leaves a grandson, James C. Avery, also of Ellsworth. A granddaughter, Lindsay M. Payeur and her husband Michael J. Payeur of  Saco, ME, also several nieces and nephews.Funeral Services for Sue will be on Saturday August 20,2016  with calling hours from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St. Hanson, MA. 02341 Phone: (781) 293-2020.   A graveside service will immediately follow at Fern Hill Cemetery Hanson, Ma.
